Visit Meteora, a specialist tour operator and DMC in the awe-inspiring region of Meteora, Greece, sought to enhance their guests’ experiences without breaking their budget. While the towering rock formations and ancient monasteries already offered breathtaking scenery and cultural depth, Visit Meteora wanted to add an extra layer of value. They aimed to provide a cost-effective, multilingual audio guide solution that would give visitors, including those on a budget, easy access to the rich history and spirituality of the monasteries.
Solution/Outcome
Vox Group collaborated with Visit Meteora to develop a comprehensive self-guided audio product covering all the significant monasteries in the area. By integrating the multilingual audio guide—offered initially in English, French, Spanish, and German—into their diverse packages, Visit Meteora now caters to a wide range of travellers. The solution is flexible, with the option to add new languages at any time, ensuring that the experience remains accessible and relevant to guests from around the world. This partnership has allowed Visit Meteora to enhance their offerings both locally and for excursions departing from other cities like Athens. Travellers now enjoy in-depth, expertly crafted commentary at their own pace, gaining a richer understanding of Meteora’s cultural and historical significance. By providing this added value service, Visit Meteora differentiates itself as a forward-thinking operator committed to delivering memorable, informative, and inclusive experiences.
The Result
With guides speaking into a Vox transmitter pre-set to its own unique frequency, voice commentary was clearly heard by passengers within a 200-metre radius, allowing each tour to flow in a fluid motion and removing the need for the guides to raise their voice. Princess Cruises and their passengers were highly satisfied with their Kirkwall experience. With this increase in customer satisfaction Prince Cruises decided to include Vox Tour Guide Systems in their 2018 UK programme. European Cruise Service now have included the Vox Tour Guide System as an inexpensive, added-value option to complement any future client shore excursion programmes.
