Opportunity/Context
UKInbound, the leading trade association for the UK’s inbound travel industry, hosted a general meeting at the Royal Museums in Greenwich. The event required a flexible, secure sound system that would allow attendees to enjoy speeches and presentations without disturbing the venue’s serene atmosphere. Additionally, the venue offered walking tours, requiring guides to effectively communicate with delegates without traditional PA systems, which could compromise the experience.
Solution/Outcome
Vox Group deployed its advanced digital group guiding and meeting technology, including patented Vox Microguides and transmitters. Each delegate received personal earbuds and receivers, while speakers and guides used cutting-edge transmitters. No additional infrastructure or wiring was needed, ensuring seamless integration with the event’s layout. With 99 channels and a range of over 150 meters, the Vox system provided crystal clear sound for both the meeting and walking tours, enhancing delegate engagement and preserving the venue's tranquillity. The lightweight technology also allowed for uninterrupted communication during the tours, creating an immersive and personalised experience for all participants.
The Result
With guides speaking into a Vox transmitter pre-set to its own unique frequency, voice commentary was clearly heard by passengers within a 200-metre radius, allowing each tour to flow in a fluid motion and removing the need for the guides to raise their voice. Princess Cruises and their passengers were highly satisfied with their Kirkwall experience. With this increase in customer satisfaction Prince Cruises decided to include Vox Tour Guide Systems in their 2018 UK programme. European Cruise Service now have included the Vox Tour Guide System as an inexpensive, added-value option to complement any future client shore excursion programmes.
