Leonardo’s Vineyard: Revolutionising Visitor Experiences with Vox Group’s Comprehensive Solutions

Leonardo's Vineyard, a historic site in Milan that was once the home of Leonardo da Vinci, holds a rich history dating back to the 16th century. While it has been a popular destination for locals, the venue lacked the infrastructure and organisation necessary to accommodate the growing interest from international tourists. The vineyard needed to establish a full-service operation, including guiding solutions, booking systems, and reception services, and sought a single partner to manage all aspects.

Solution/Outcome

In 2020, Vox Group was entrusted with the management of tourism services at Leonardo's Vineyard. Vox implemented a comprehensive solution that included reservations, ticketing, audio guides, and the development of the venue’s smartphone app technology. A dedicated Vox desk inside the Vineyard now welcomes tourists and offers additional experiences related to Milan, enhancing the overall visitor engagement. Leonardo’s Vineyard adopted Vox’s Wave booking software, which efficiently handles the influx of tourists and supports the Integrated Ticketing Online system. In 2023, this system managed an impressive average of 70,000 transactions per year, generating nearly 900,000 Euros in net income. To further enrich the visitor experience, Vox developed multilingual audio guide content accessible through POPGuide or the M-guide multimedia device, both of which featured auto-play technology connected with BLE beacons. This integration of cutting-edge technology and comprehensive service management significantly improved customer engagement, provided valuable data tracking, and introduced extra products that have contributed to the venue's success as a premier international tourist destination.

The Result

With guides speaking into a Vox transmitter pre-set to its own unique frequency, voice commentary was clearly heard by passengers within a 200-metre radius, allowing each tour to flow in a fluid motion and removing the need for the guides to raise their voice. Princess Cruises and their passengers were highly satisfied with their Kirkwall experience. With this increase in customer satisfaction Prince Cruises decided to include Vox Tour Guide Systems in their 2018 UK programme. European Cruise Service now have included the Vox Tour Guide System as an inexpensive, added-value option to complement any future client shore excursion programmes.
