The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, a renowned library and art gallery with a rich collection of cultural treasures, faced the challenge of providing solo visitors with an engaging and informative way to explore its premises. They sought a solution that would allow visitors to delve deeper into the works on display, offering an experience that matched the institution's prestigious standing. The aim was to create an exclusive experience that could also open opportunities for upselling additional services.
Solution/Outcome
Vox partnered with Pinacoteca Ambrosiana to develop a smartphone-based interactive mapping system complemented by multilingual commentary. This solution provided visitors with exclusive content, allowing them to explore the venue independently while gaining deeper insights into its collections. The interactive map guided visitors through the gallery, enhancing their experience and encouraging longer dwell times. Additionally, the increased value of the experience for domestic and international visitors has enabled the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana to position itself as a more complete and relatable experience. This innovative approach not only improved visitor engagement and satisfaction but also contributed to higher venue ratings and enhanced the overall value of the visitor experience.
The Result
With guides speaking into a Vox transmitter pre-set to its own unique frequency, voice commentary was clearly heard by passengers within a 200-metre radius, allowing each tour to flow in a fluid motion and removing the need for the guides to raise their voice. Princess Cruises and their passengers were highly satisfied with their Kirkwall experience. With this increase in customer satisfaction Prince Cruises decided to include Vox Tour Guide Systems in their 2018 UK programme. European Cruise Service now have included the Vox Tour Guide System as an inexpensive, added-value option to complement any future client shore excursion programmes.
