Opportunity/Context
Venetiana, a sustainable sightseeing boat company in Venice, offers a variety of packages and tickets, including 1-day, 24-hour, 48-hour, and island tours, allowing visitors to explore the city from their eco-friendly electric boats. To further enrich the customer experience and streamline their operations, Venetiana sought a multilingual commentary solution that could provide engaging content while also efficiently managing the booking and distribution process.
Solution/Outcome
Vox partnered with Venetiana to implement ‘POPGuide’, a geo-tagged guiding solution that allows guests to listen to pre-recorded audio commentary in multiple languages as their boats traversed the ancient waterways. This exclusive content enriches the sightseeing experience, enhancing customer engagement by providing insightful and culturally relevant information throughout their journey. In addition, Vox introduced its ‘Wave’ enterprise software as the booking system for Venetiana, enabling seamless management of online and onsite bookings, ticket validation, and daily operations. This added value service not only improves operational efficiency but also ensures a smooth, enjoyable experience for all Venetiana's customers, aligning with their commitment to sustainable and enriching travel.
The Result
With guides speaking into a Vox transmitter pre-set to its own unique frequency, voice commentary was clearly heard by passengers within a 200-metre radius, allowing each tour to flow in a fluid motion and removing the need for the guides to raise their voice. Princess Cruises and their passengers were highly satisfied with their Kirkwall experience. With this increase in customer satisfaction Prince Cruises decided to include Vox Tour Guide Systems in their 2018 UK programme. European Cruise Service now have included the Vox Tour Guide System as an inexpensive, added-value option to complement any future client shore excursion programmes.
