What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is one day. Vox also offers Long Rent options for multi-day tours and Seasonal rentals requiring a minimum commitment of 3 months. The commercial team can discuss the best solution based on the client's requirements.

Is technical support included with equipment rental?

Yes. Technical support is included. Vox provides 24/7 support and replacement services backed by a global network of offices and logistics hubs.

Can rental equipment be shipped internationally?

Yes. Vox provides service coverage across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. For non-standard destinations, Vox can ship directly to the client's site or coordinate with a local ground handler for delivery and collection.

How is equipment sanitised between rentals?

Vox provides silicon earbuds for single guest use only, which are sustainably recycled after use. All other non-disposable items including receivers, transmitters, and reusable headphones are fully sanitised by Vox between rentals.

What is the Vox Destination Management solution?

The Vox Destination Management solution is a fully digital pass and platform designed for municipalities, DMOs, DMCs, and destination stakeholders. It provides a 100% digital, paperless experience that consolidates booking, mobile tickets, self-guided tours, communication, and transport integration into a single ecosystem.

Can the platform manage multiple attractions or passes under one system?

Yes. Vox works directly with the destination to design custom pass offerings that bundle multiple attractions, transport including Mobility-as-a-Service, itineraries, and self-guiding content. The system is scalable, allowing for dynamic packaging and continuous expansion of partner attractions.

Is the system compatible with existing ticketing infrastructure?

POPGuide is a B2B mobile app designed to provide on-demand, multilingual audio tours. It eliminates the operational bottlenecks associated with live guides, allowing operators to serve more visitors across multiple languages. Visitors simply scan a QR code with their own smartphone to instantly start their self-guided tour.

Do visitors need to download an app to use the self-guided tour?

Yes. When visitors scan the QR code, the tour starts instantly on the POPGuide App. Visitors download the full version of the tour map or collection onto their device. Partners can also choose to develop a White Label App or integrate POPGuide via SDK into their existing app.

What types of content can a POPGuide tour include?

A POPGuide tour includes multilingual audio storytelling tailored for diverse audiences such as families, school groups, or themed tours. Content is structured around Points of Interest (POIs) of 1–2 minutes and can be produced using human voice actors, AI-based tools, or a hybrid. Partners can use Vox's existing library, co-create new content, or upload their own materials.

Can POPGuide be used offline?

Yes. The app uses a full download method where the user downloads the entire collection of maps and audio content at once, ensuring a seamless experience even in venues or outdoor areas where internet connectivity is weak or unavailable.

How does a destination or museum set up a POPGuide experience?

Setup involves customising the app interface with the destination's branding, curating content from Vox's library or producing custom audio, grouping maps into Collections with multilingual descriptions, and publishing QR codes tied to a chosen pricing model such as price per person or subscription fee.

Vox Aura is an AI-powered live translation solution that allows guides to speak naturally while every guest instantly hears the commentary in their preferred language. It integrates seamlessly with existing Vox Digital Radioguides (VDR) to provide smooth, real-time translation without requiring guests to use smartphones, download apps, or incur roaming fees.

How many languages does Vox Aura support for live translation?

Vox Aura supports 200 languages (input/output). Each guide transmitter has four channels — one for the live guide voice and three for selected languages. Languages can be changed at any time. Guests select their preferred language channel using the channel control on the receiver.

How does AI live translation differ from a human interpreter?

Vox Aura is powered by a Vox-developed AI engine hosted in the cloud. It uses SmartPacket Technology to restructure conversational speech into logical, contextual packets so the AI understands historical context, names, and cultural details — avoiding word-for-word translation. What is the audio latency of the live translation system?

The system delivers simultaneous translation with minimal delay, meaning listeners hear the accurate translation in near real-time while the speaker is still talking.

Can Vox Aura be used for large conferences or only tours?

Yes. Vox Aura is designed to be scalable and can handle everything from small group-guided tours to large-scale conferences and events involving multiple languages and many participants.

What hardware is required to use Vox Aura?

The guide requires a lightweight Vox Aura transmitter (under 300 grams) with an active internet connection (4G or Wi-Fi), plus a smartphone with the companion app connected via Bluetooth. Guests use standard Vox VDR receivers and disposable earphones — no smartphones or internet connection required.

How can guests communicate with the guide if they have a question?

Through Question Mode (Beta), the guide selects the guest's language and the guest speaks directly into the guide's phone via the app. The guide can respond privately through the app or repeat the question and answer aloud using the Aura device microphone.

Can guests change their selected language easily?

Yes. Guests use the channel control buttons on their VDR receiver to switch to their preferred language at any time. Guides can also update available languages on the fly using the companion mobile app.

How many participants can the Vox guiding system support simultaneously?

The Vox transmitters are capable of supporting hundreds of receivers simultaneously. The exact maximum capacity will depend on the specific hardware and network configuration you choose to use.

How far is the transmission range of the Vox guiding system?

The standard Vox VDR system has an effective transmission range from 150 up to 200 meters. If you are utilising the AI Live Translations system, the interference-free reception range extends to +/- 300 meters.

Does the system work without internet connectivity?

The standard Vox VDR system operates on a digital radio signal using DECT technology and does not require an internet connection. If you are using Vox Aura AI Live Translations, the guide's transmitter requires a stable internet connection (4G/LTE or Wi-Fi) to process translations in real time. Guests' receivers do not need any internet access.

In how many languages can guides broadcast simultaneously?

When using Vox Aura AI Live Translations, the system supports up to 4 simultaneous languages. Each Aura transmitter has four channels — one for the live guide voice and three for selected languages. Is the equipment compatible with cruise shore excursions?

Does the system work underground, for example in catacombs?

The standard Vox VDR hardware works for both indoor and outdoor guided tours, including underground environments. The AI Live Translations feature underground will only work if an active internet connection such as Wi-Fi is available for the guide's transmitter. Standard voice transmission without AI translation works fine without internet access.
